Description
Nos. 18 and 20 on The Bank are a pair of cottages from the 18th century, constructed of coursed lias stone with a simple stone cornice. They feature a tile roof, with some old tiles visible on the left side. There is a narrow external brick chimney stack from the 19th century on the left end and another brick stack on the right. Each cottage has a single-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. No. 18, located on the right, includes an attic with two 20th-century roof dormers. The cottages have a three-window range; No. 20 features an original plank door within a very simple moulded frame, while No. 18 has a 20th-century door in a 19th-century or later frame. No. 20 has two 19th-century casements on the first floor, whereas No. 18 has 20th-century casements, with an enlarged opening on the first floor. The rear of No. 18 retains its original door and one leaded light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
