Description

The bridge over the River Avon in Hampton Lucy was built in 1829, with later reconstruction in the 20th century and strengthening in 1991. It was commissioned by Reverend John Lucy. The structure is made of cast-iron, limestone ashlar, and brick, with the cast-iron components manufactured by Horseley Iron Works in Shropshire.

The bridge features a segmental arch made up of four identical cast-iron members, which include panelled arches and cusped lattices in the spandrels. It has a cyma-moulded cornice. At each end, there are ashlar sections with five single-chamfered arches and two 20th-century concrete piers on each side. The bridge is adorned with cast-iron railings that have pointed arches, and brick abutments at each end, which are complemented by lattice railings in the balustrade.
