Description
This is a house located at 47 Church Street in Hampton Lucy, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tile roof with brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan.
On the exterior, there is a brick plat band above the ground floor and a top modillioned brick cornice. The entrance, which is straight-headed and located to the right of center, has a battened door and an open timbered porch with lattice sides. The windows are segmental-headed and have 3-light leaded casements. The roof is gabled.
The right return of the house has a projecting stack with a small shuttered, small-paned light on the ground floor to the right, and above it, there is a 2-light attic window with an iron opening casement.
Inside, the house is noted for having spine beams.
