Description
Kingley barn, located 32 metres northeast of the house, consists of two barns that have been combined into one. The structure includes a 17th-century four-bay barn and an 18th-century three-bay barn, with a later 18th-century bay connecting them. It features a timber frame with brick infill, mostly from the 20th century, in three bays, while the fifth bay is made of early 19th-century brick. The left side has a weatherboard addition and a lias plinth. The roof is covered with old tiles, although the rear has a concrete tile roof. The barn is designed in an L-shape, with central doors, a single door to the addition, and double doors leading to an outshut. There are six small openings on the first floor. On the left return side, the first bay has a late 19th-century brick addition that projects forward. The addition features a half-hipped gable and a weatherboard outshut with a catslide roof across the third bay and the addition. Inside, there are two square-framed roof trusses, which were originally gables; one retains lath and plaster while the other has some laths remaining. The five-bay section includes aisle posts and an inserted floor, along with queen strut and collar roofs.
