Description
The chest tomb and attached railings are located approximately 12 meters southwest of the church tower of St. Peter. The tomb commemorates Edward, who died in 1831, and is made of sandstone. It features a moulded plinth and cornice, with moulded sunk panels on each side. The long sides of the tomb have inscriptions, while the ends display finely carved reliefs: the east end depicts ships in full sail, and the west end shows a riderless horse, a cricket bat, and other items framed by drapery. The wrought iron railings have a javelin motif and include flaming urn finials at each corner and in the center of each side. This finely detailed example is prominently positioned on the approach to the church.
