Description
The building is a former priest's house, also known as a presbytery, built for the Throckmorton family around 1853. It was designed by Charles Hansom and is constructed from regularly coursed stone with a tile roof featuring crested ridge tiles and renewed brick stacks. The house is in the Gothic Revival style and has an L-plan layout with two storeys and a three-window range.
On the right side, there is a gabled wing with a small adjacent gable above the entrance. The entrance features a double chamfered two-centred arched doorway with a recessed arched plank door and a diagonal buttress. Above the entrance, there is a triangular stone oriel with two small trefoiled lancets and a stone roof. The stone mullioned windows include glazing bars and relieving arches. To the left, there is a four-light staircase window with a transom on the ground floor and a two-light mullion window on the first floor. The right return side has a canted bay and a slightly projecting gabled wing with 20th-century casements.
The interior has not been inspected, and there is a single-storey 20th-century addition. The building is attached to a Roman Catholic church.
