Description

These three town houses stand on Church Street in Stratford-upon-Avon and date from around 1600, with alterations made in the 19th century. They are timber-framed with painted brick infill and have a renewed tile roof, featuring two brick stacks positioned at the rear and along the ridge. The houses are two storeys high, presenting a five-window facade. The brickwork on the right end projects forward. A segmental-headed entrance with a 20th-century glazed door is located on the left end, while a similar entrance is on the right end. A pair of entrances are centrally located on the right; one features a cornice and a half-glazed door (formerly a shop entrance), and the other has a plank door. Two 20th-century canted bay windows are found to the left of the centre, and a former three-light shop window, complete with a frieze and cornice, is situated to the right. The right end has a segmental-headed window with plate glass sashes. The first floor windows are varied, incorporating two-light casements with different numbers of small panes, reflecting different dates. The timber framing is arranged in squares between the stacks. The rear of the building is extended with varied gabled additions.
