Description
The stable and outbuilding, located approximately 40 meters north-north-east of Lower Ingon Farmhouse in Hampton Lucy, date from the 19th century. They are constructed of brick and feature an old tile roof. The stable is a two-storey structure with a two-unit plan, attached to the east end of the south side of a barn.
On the exterior, the stable has two segmental-headed entrances with stable doors, each accompanied by a high square window with a timber lintel above two-light glazing to the right. There is also a central pitching hole and a gabled roof. The single-storey outbuilding attached to the south end has a pair of entrances with paired plank doors, along with an end that features a segmental-headed entrance with paired plank doors.
Inside, the stable contains a cross-wall with a pitching hole. This building is part of a group of structures that enclose three sides of the farmyard to the north of Lower Ingon Farmhouse.
