Description
The chest tomb and attached railings are located approximately 9 meters southwest of the Church of St. Peter. This tomb commemorates Benjamin Johnson, who died in the 1830s, along with other family members. Made of stone, the tomb is designed in a simple Gothic style, featuring plain sides with inscriptions and a single blind lancet at each corner. It has a simple moulded plinth and cornice. The wrought iron railings are decorated with a javelin motif and have flaming urn finials at each corner. The tomb is situated in a prominent position on the approach to the church and is near another chest tomb with carved reliefs from 1831. This structure is included for its group value.
