Description
Manor Farmhouse is an early to mid 18th-century farmhouse, likely with earlier origins, and altered in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with a limestone string course and rusticated alternating quoins; the return sides have a brick dentil cornice. A wing set back on the right has a ground floor of ironstone rubble with brickwork above. The double-span roof, running at right angles to the front, has outer sides of old tiles and inner sides of concrete tiles, with stone-coped gable parapets, a parapet between, a moulded kneeler on the left, and brick end stacks to the front and a ridge stack to the left return side. The house has a double-depth plan and two storeys with an attic; the front has a five-window range and is symmetrical. A half-glazed door with glazing bars and panelled reveals is set within rendered pilasters and a plain entablature. Sixteen-pane sashes have rusticated rendered flat arches, and one attic window on the right has been blocked. A two-storey, one-window wing has a fielded six-panelled door with a wood lintel and 19th-century casements with horizontal glazing bars. The left return side has two bays. At the rear, there is a stone plinth, an old six-panelled door, and three- and two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected.
