Description

This gatepier and the sandstone section of the adjoining forecourt wall, located on the west side of the entry to Priory Farmhouse, date from around 1700. The structure is made of squared and coursed sandstone and features a rebate for a gate. It has grey sandstone used for the moulded cornice and the square bases of the ball finial, which has since been removed. The adjoining wall is constructed from similar materials and has gable coping.
