Description

Old Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, featuring a late 18th-century range towards the farmyard and later additions, as well as an early 19th-century range facing the garden. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick and has a dentil cornice, with plain-tile roofs and brick ridge stacks.

The farmhouse has an irregular plan and a symmetrical garden front that is two storeys high with a three-window range. A late 20th-century brick porch features half-glazed doors and stone columns inside. The sash windows are topped with gauged brick flat arches. The front facing the yard has a two-storey central range with two windows. It includes a flush six-panelled door with a moulded wood surround and a rendered lintel with a keyblock. There are three-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, and the first floor has a 20th-century window in the second bay.

To the left, there is a three-storey, one-bay addition that matches the height of the main structure, featuring cross windows and a three-light window on the second floor, topped with a hipped roof. On the right, a lower 19th-century two-storey, one-bay range projects, which includes a two-light window and a horizontal sash above, with a 19th-century lean-to in the angle that has a three-light window. Most of the windows have glazing bars.

Inside, the range facing the garden has reeded wood architraves with corner roundels. The late 17th-century to early 18th-century transverse straight flight staircase in the center of the house features cut-out splat balusters and a panelled dado. The rear range has chamfered beams and a large segmental-arched former open fireplace.
