Description
Kinwalsey House is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-frame structure built on a sandstone plinth, with red brick that has been colourwashed. Some walls of the main range and cross-wing have been rebuilt in red brick. The roof is plain-tiled and has a central stack positioned off the ridge. The building has a plan that includes a main range and a cross-wing, and it is two storeys high. The first and ground floors have early 20th-century leaded light casements. The south-east end displays exposed timber-framing, with a height of two panels on the wall and jowled heads to the posts. The cross-wing is one storey with an attic and features a three-light casement on the first floor. The ground floor has a doorway with a boarded door. Inside, the cross-wing retains a central truss spanning two bays, and there are back-to-back inglenooks.
