Description
This is a group of four garden vases located approximately 39 meters southeast of the southeast terrace at Merevale Hall. They were created around 1850 and are made of sandstone. Each vase features a similar design, with a wide bowl that is carved with leaf motifs, resting on a spiral-fluted and leaf-carved foot, which is supported by a square pedestal. These vases are part of a formal garden layout designed by W.A. Nesfield around the same time. They are included for their group value. The gardens at Merevale are also listed in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England Register of Parks and Gardens at grade II.
