Description
Ryecroft Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, possibly dating to the early 18th century, with alterations and additions from the mid-19th century. It is timber-framed and brick built, with a tiled roof and brick end and side stacks. The building has an 'L' shape, consisting of a timber-framed range to the north and a brick wing running east to west. The two--storey entrance front is divided into two parts. A projecting gable, hung with shingles, is blind and has a jettied eaves level on the right. To the left is square-panel timber framing, four panels high, with diagonal braces to the eaves angles. The facade has small-pane casement windows, approximately centrally placed on each floor, although not within the framing. A set-back wing to the left is built in brick, with a verge parapet and a brick stack to the left end. It has two windows to the first floor, and a three-light casement to the left, a single-light window to the right against the return angle, and above a boarded entrance door.
