Description

The gate piers, railings, and gates of the Nicholson Institute were constructed between 1882 and 1884 by William Larner Sugden. They feature massive rusticated stone piers topped with ball finials, which flank cast-iron gates. The gates are complemented by openwork piers adorned with wrought-iron scrolled finials.
