Description
This is a barn located approximately 20 metres north of Rushton Hall Farmhouse. It was built in the mid-19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The barn is constructed from coursed stone and features a blue machine tile roof with verge parapets.
The barn has a two-level plan, with a hay loft situated above stables and byres. It has a long yard front measuring about 30 metres. There are two hay loft doors that are offset to the left, positioned above a pair of windows at the left-hand end. In the centre, there are three blocked windows and a door. To the right of the windows, there is a boarded stable door located beneath the hay loft door, along with a pair of boarded doors at the right-hand end; one is a stable door, while the left-hand door is a late 20th-century addition.
The barn is included for its group value with the farmhouse, which is of similar size and is positioned parallel to it, directly across the yard.
