Description
Mill Cottage is located approximately 20 meters southeast of Cheddleton Flint Mill. This cottage dates from the late 18th century and has some early 19th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone and features a tiled roof with a ridge stack positioned to the right of center. The building is two stories high and has a two-window front, with a chamfered angle at the right end. The windows are casements, offset to the right, and may have originally been block mullioned on the first floor. There is a door located in a 20th-century glazed porch to the left, and a straight joint can be seen between the window ranges. The cottage is part of the Cheddleton Flint Mill complex, which includes grinding mills and furnaces, and is included in the listing for its group value.
