Description
The Lee is a farmhouse built in the early 18th century, with extensions from 1758 and remodelled in 1852, along with later alterations. The structure is made of red brick with ashlar dressings and quoins on the east and west ranges, while the north range is constructed from coursed dressed rubble in a butted 'L' plan. The roofs are covered with stone slate and Welsh slate, featuring twin-shafted brick stacks at the ends and ridges.
The early 18th-century frontage block is made of brick and has a stone slate roof with verge parapets and rusticated quoins. The windows are framed in two raised stone-dressed continuous ranges, with three-light casement windows on the left that include a shield inscribed with the letter "R" at the first-floor level. To the right, there is a two-storey bay window from 1852 with a flat roof and casement light. The rear has a small-pane casement window and a stone slate roof range, dated "N", along with a hipped lean-to against the early 18th-century block on the southwest side.
The entrance, added in 1758 to the left, features a pedimented doorcase with a panelled door. Inside, the stair hall includes several panelled doors, one leading to the southeast with an architrave and keystone. The dog leg stair has vase base balusters, open strings, a curtail step, and a scroll. There is also a three-transom stair window. The rear wing has heavy ceiling beams and a large fireplace with an internal fire-light.
