Description
69 and 71 St Edward Street are a pair of houses, likely built in the early 18th century or earlier, but given a new front in the 19th century. The buildings are rendered over brick and have a plain-tiled roof.
Each house is three stories high and features a single-window range. No. 69 has a 19th-century shop front with a canted bay window and paired part-glazed doors, which are flanked by incised pilasters. Above the shop front, there is a wide six-light window that seems to be part of the shop, possibly intended to illuminate a workshop. The upper storey has a 15-pane sash window and an end wall stack.
No. 71 has a central door that is flanked by two windows and three windows. The upper windows have been replaced with three-light casements. The building features dentilled eaves and also has an end wall stack. The interior has not been inspected.
