No. 5 Eastgate Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is reported to retain timber-framed cross walls and an 18th-century staircase above the ground floor, which has a closed string, column or vase balusters, and a moulded handrail.
