Description
The Royal British Legion Club is a house that has been converted into a club, dating from around 1770. It is built of brick and features a tiled roof with brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and is designed in the Georgian style, standing two storeys high with a four-window range.
The exterior includes a plaster plinth, a brick platt band above the ground floor, and a top cornice. To the left of the centre, there is a round-headed entrance with a doorcase that has fluted pilasters, entablature blocks, and an open pediment. Above the six-panel door, there is a fanlight with radial glazing bars. There is also an entrance at the left end, which has an overlight above a six-flush-panel door.
On the ground floor, there are three windows with sills and 12-pane sashes, while the first-floor windows also have sills and brick flat arches over 12-pane sashes, with the right-hand windows positioned higher. The rear of the building features two gabled wings. The interior has been much altered but includes a brick vaulted cellar.
