Description
Burston Lodge is a building that originated in the 17th century but has undergone significant alterations and refashioning. It features roughcast on a stone base that supports an earlier timber frame. The north side is constructed of red brick, with some exposed timber framing and areas that are sham painted. The building stands two storeys high plus an attic and includes a 19th-century canted bay window with a tiled pentice. On the south side, there is a doorway with a modern porch and an iron-studded plank door that has been reused from the Old Mission Church, which was demolished. There are modern additions to the right and at the rear of the building. The eaves are plain, and the roof is tiled. Inside, the lodge has exposed ceiling beams and a massive stone central chimney with plain stone fireplaces.
