Description

Enson House is likely of early 17th-century origin, although it has undergone significant alterations in the 18th century. Originally timber-framed, the building is now faced with brick, with tiled roofs and brick stacks set diagonally. Some sections of the walls are stone rubble, particularly at the bases of the chimneys. The house is arranged in a T-shape, with two projecting gabled wings. It has two storeys and an attic, and features casement windows with segmental heads; the front elevation has four windows. A substantial, stepped chimney shaft on the east side may represent a later survival of a feature from the original construction of the house.
