Description

This is a mid-19th century building, possibly originally a school or library. The structure is red brick with a stone dentilled and moulded cornice, and has a slate roof with a hipped section to the right. Brick stacks are visible at the ends. The building is designed in an Italianate style, and is a single storey in height. It features two tripartite round-headed windows on the front, with bracketed sills and plaster key blocks and surrounds continued as bands to the left and right. The windows contain plate glass sashes. A central round-headed door with six panels is flanked by pilaster strips with channelled rustication, and has fluted brackets supporting a segmental open pediment. The façade also incorporates corner pilaster strips, which are plain above a band and channelled with rustication below. The building is similar in style to Codsall railway station.
