Description
Crump Hillocks Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with alterations and an addition from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, along with a red brick addition and repairs. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and there is a brick ridge stack and an integral end stack. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main range aligned north-south facing east and an extension wing to the north-east aligned east-west.
The east front has one storey and an attic, with a projecting gabled wing on the left that has a raised roof verge and a central stack. This wing is flanked by two ground floor two-light mullioned windows and attic single-light windows, all featuring brick dripstone bands. The principal range to the left includes a boarded door on the left and a casement window on the right, both with segmental heads, along with a central blocked two-light mullioned window. There are two gabled dormers on the right side of the principal range and one on the left side of the wing. The rear wall and north gable of the principal range display exposed square panel timber framing with tension braces and a queen strut roof truss.
