Description

This is a house dating from the early 17th century, with additions from the 18th century and further extensions in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of timber framing and red brick, with fragments of a stone plinth and a plain-tiled roof featuring two brick ridge stacks and decorative 19th-century bargeboards to the gables. The house has an "L" plan, consisting of a two-bay 17th-century range and an 18th-century crosswing.

The north elevation has two storeys with attics, and three bays with an advanced gable to the east. A gabled single-storey porch has been added to the centre. The gable above the ground floor sash window opening shows square framing, and this window is currently boarded up. Diagonal down bracing is visible from jowled corner posts. A dummy painted sash window is on the first floor, and a six-pane casement window is in the attic. Cusped serpentine bargeboards adorn the gable. To the west, there is a stepped two-bay brick range, built in two phases during the 18th century, with a 19th-century gabled porch to the east bay, which contains a segmental arch over the doorway. Stacked sash windows are below segmental heads; the ground floor windows have eight-over-eight panes, and the first floor windows have three-over-three panes. A three-over-three pane sash window is on the first floor of the west bay.

The west elevation has two storeys and two bays, with square framing to the first floor incorporating two four-light timber windows with ovolo-moulded mullions. The north window has leaded lights, while the south window has a metal casement.

The interior's plan form remains largely undisturbed, featuring a central hearth, a spine beam with run-out stops, window shutters, and a winder stair leading to the attics.
