Description
The converted agricultural buildings located immediately south-east of Featherstone Farmhouse were built around 1700 and underwent later alterations, with a minor amendment to the listing in 2020. These structures feature rectangular panel timber framing supported by long straight tension braces, with brick infill set on a high brick plinth. Some areas have been rebuilt in brick, and the roofs are covered with plain tiles. The buildings have an L-shaped plan, with two two-bay ranges facing north and west towards Featherstone Farmhouse. They are single-storey, and the west range retains much of its original framing, showcasing exposed queen strut roof trusses with short angled struts connecting the tie beam to the principals. The south wall of the south range has been rebuilt using 18th-century brick, which includes a dentilled eaves band and several tiers of air vents. Please note that Featherstone Farmhouse itself is not included in this listing.
