Description

The dovecote, dating from around 1730, is located in the center of the coach house and stable courtyard at Chillington Park in Brewood. It is constructed of red brick and features rusticated ashlar quoins, a moulded stone cornice, and a plinth. The roof is made of lead on timber. The dovecote has a segmental headed doorway with a gauged brick arch and a raised keystone. A cupola, which was damaged and has now been removed, once stood within the courtyard; it was octagonal with a lead on timber roof and had glazing bar sashes with segmental heads and key blocks.
