Description

The Hills Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1770, with significant additions and alterations made principally in the early 20th century, specifically around 1904. It is constructed of red brick in both random and Flemish bond patterns, with a plain tiled roof. Originally the farmhouse had an "L" shape, with two-storied additions built later around the rear. The front facade is two stories high and features a gable-lit attic, a dentilled eaves cornice, and a three-window arrangement. There are three-light casement windows from the mid-19th century, each with a cambered head. A large axial brick stack rises from the left side, and a taller brick stack is present on the right. A 20th-century lean-to porch covers the entrance, located in a short wing to the left. A fire insurance plate is positioned between the second and third windows from the left. Inside, the ground floor room on the left features plain spine beams and an inglenook fireplace that has been filled in.
