Description
Clod Hall is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a timber frame on a plastered stone plinth, with painted brick infill and a thatched roof. The original structure has a two-cell plan, with a two-storey mid-20th century addition at a right angle to the rear. The building has one storey and an attic, with framing that includes rectangular panels and long slightly curved tension braces, although some of the framing has been replaced in the 20th century. There are long inclined struts from the collars at the gable ends. The front has two windows with raking eaves dormers above, all of which are mid-20th century small-paned casements. There is a blocked doorway in the centre and a brick ridge stack slightly to the right. The entrance to the rear is located in the mid-20th century brick extension, which is also thatched and partially weatherboarded.
