Description
This is a Dutch barn built in 1883, as indicated by the datestone on the north-west gable end. The barn is constructed of red brick and has a machine-tiled roof featuring ventilators arranged in five rows. It consists of seven bays and is open on the west side, with perforated brick air vents arranged in rows on the east side and also in the gable ends. There is a loft over the four southern bays, with double doors on the ground floor at the southernmost bay. The roof is supported by sawn softwood trusses that carry the purlins but do not extend up to the ridge. This barn is noted for being a complete, impressive, and well-preserved example of its type.
