Description

Haunton Hall is a former house dating to around 1820, with 20th-century additions. The building is constructed of red brick with a slate hipped roof and brick ridge stacks. It is two storeys high with attic space. The main front has five bays, with the central bay slightly recessed. A 20th-century round-arched brick verandah, featuring reused Doric columns and a niche, now covers the first floor of the central bay. The central doorway is set within a large segmental brick arch, above which is a fanlight and flanking lights. Either side of the doorway are glazing bar sashes with brick wedge lintels. Above are a central round-headed glazing bar sash, flanked by two glazing bar sashes with wedge brick lintels; above this again are two double flat-headed 20th-century dormers.

Inside, a cantilevered stone staircase with a delicate iron balustrade and good plasterwork is a prominent feature. The two main rooms on both floors contain good plasterwork, joinery, and marble fireplaces. A large 20th-century addition to the rear is not of particular architectural interest.
