Description
Blackbrook Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a tiled roof with corbelled and dentilled eaves, as well as verge parapets with end stacks. The building has a double range plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a five-window front. There are three gabled dormers above glazing bar sashes, which have painted, wedged segmental heads; the central dormer features a raised keystone and is positioned above the entrance. The entrance itself is marked by a projecting painted brick door surround with a pediment, a radial fanlight, and a six-panel door. Notably, the architect James Wyatt was born here in 1747.
