Description

The Charity Offices, built in 1844, is a two-storey brick building with stone dressings, located on Duke Street in Tutbury. It is locally known as the 'Soup House' due to the establishment of a soup kitchen here in 1901. The building features three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting. It has sash windows that are topped with stone lintels and sills, and there are stone bands adorning the structure. The entrance has a plain stone doorcase with a cornice hood supported by consoles, and a vertical ribbed door. The eaves are moulded brick, and the roof is hipped and covered with slate.
