Description
The Church of St. Lawrence is a parish church dating from 1835, designed by Thomas Fradgley of Uttoxeter. It is constructed of ashlar with a slate roof and is built in the Gothic style, comprising a west tower, a three-bay nave, and a single-bay chancel.
The west tower has three stages topped with a crenellated parapet. A pointed west doorway is topped with a hood mould, and the first and second stages feature lancet windows with returned hood moulds. The third stage has pointed windows with Y-tracery and returned hood moulds. The nave and chancel have angle buttresses and pointed windows to the north and south sides, also with Y-tracery and hood moulds, linked by a string course. A pointed east window of three lights features reticulated tracery above, and a pointed south door is present.
Inside, a gated altar rail dating from around 1700 features twisted balusters. Fragments of stained glass are found in the south-west window of the nave.
