Description
The former coach house and stables, located approximately 50 yards north-west of Crakemarsh Hall, date from the late 18th century. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish stretcher bond and features a hipped slate roof with brick ridge stacks. It consists of four ranges built around a rectangular courtyard, with square blocks at the two north-western corners and an entrance on the south-east side. The structure is two storeys high, with coped plinths and dentilled eaves. It has three bays, with 20th-century casements that have segmental heads. The central bay features a pedimented break containing a three-centred carriage arch that springs from an impost band, with a window above and a clock in the pediment. At the time of the last survey in February 1985, the building was undergoing conversion to residential use.
