Description

Caverswall Farmhouse is an early to mid-18th century farmhouse located in the rural parish of Utoxeter. The building is constructed of red brick with a plain tile and fishscale tile roof, and features brick ridge stacks. It follows a 3-cell lobby-entry plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic defined by eaves bands; it has three windows, each with casement glazing and segmental heads. A mid-20th century gabled porch has been added to the right-hand side of the centre, containing a 6-panelled door. A blocked door with a segmental head is located to the left of the centre. The interior includes a dog-leg staircase with turned balusters, chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, a large open fireplace with a timber bresummer, and oak wall panelling.
