Description

A row of 15 mid-18th century cottages stands in Dawley Horsehay. Built around 1750, the cottages were constructed to house workers at the nearby Horsehay Ironworks, situated alongside the furnace pool, Horsehay Pool. They have a plain tile roof, brick ridge stacks, and are two storeys high, with two windows visible in each cottage. The upper floor windows are set beneath small gables, while the ground floor windows have cambered heads. Each cottage has a central door, also within a cambered head opening. Originally, each cottage comprised four rooms. Gabled extensions were added to the rear of the cottages in the 20th century.
