Description
The Pot Bank, currently occupied by Allied Insulators Limited, is a historic industrial building located on Lichfield Street in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. The site has been in use since 1862 and has undergone periodic rebuilding since then. The structure is primarily made of brick and features plain tiled roofs.
The surviving buildings are arranged around three sides of a courtyard. The western range consists of a three-storey section with six bays, which includes casement windows with cambered heads. Adjoining this is a lower two-storey range with three bays. At the northern part of the complex, there is an updraught bottle oven housed within a two-storey range, which may have been constructed somewhat earlier than the more modern wings. The eastern wing is also two storeys tall, with the ground floor being partly open.
