Description
The First World War Memorial in Burslem, Stoke on Trent, was built around 1920. It is made of pink sandstone ashlar and has a rectangular shape. The memorial features a large pedestal with a moulded plinth, a moulded cornice, and a niche on the front that holds a figure of a soldier with a bowed head, a rifle, and a helmet. Above the niche is the date 1914-1919. The memorial is surrounded by an area that is enclosed with small plain stone piers linked by chains.
