Description
The Former Registrar's Office at Longton Cemetery, built in 1869, is a two-storey structure featuring a combination of timber-frame and brick with a plain tiled roof. The building has a picturesque asymmetrical L-plan. It includes an advanced gable on the north side, which is adorned with casement windows and decorative timber panelling that creates an arcade between the windows. The pronounced bargeboards are supported by moulded console brackets. Additionally, there is a single-storey gabled bay that projects parallel to the main structure, which includes a gabled porch and a casement window displaying the arms of Longton above it. The building also has side and rear wall stacks.
