Description
This barn, located approximately 15 meters northeast of Church Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and was partly rebuilt in the late 18th century with later alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and red brick construction, topped with a slate roof. Originally a threshing barn, it has three bays open to the roof, with the right bay rebuilt to include a loft during the late 18th century. The barn has double doors at the center and a twin eaves hatch directly above, along with a wide segmental vehicle arch to the right. Inside, the left bay shows visible framing with large square panels and long straight tension braces. There is a weatherboarded partition with the former threshing bay, which retains its original timber cill. The roof consists of single purlins in three bays, featuring collar and tie beam end trusses, and Queen-post trusses in the center, with the right truss incorporating a reused cambered tie beam.
