Description

No. 40 Aston Street is a cottage dating from around the 17th century, which has been encased in red brick during the 19th century. Some of the original timber-framing is still visible on the east end wall. The cottage has a tiled roof with gabled ends and stands two storeys high. It features a two-window range with small 19th-century sash windows. The ground floor includes a small modern shop front and a glazed door, while there is a brick chimney stack located in the gable end.
