Description

The Croft, formerly known as The Old Workhouse, is a building located on Spout Lane in Benthall. A tablet above the door is dated 1672, but the structure primarily dates from the late 16th century. It is constructed of stone and has two storeys, with a later brick attic. There is a gabled wing on the right-hand side. The building features a modern doorcase and casement windows, along with two three-light mullioned windows below. A stone stack with brick shafts is present, and the roof is covered with a mix of old and new tiles.
