Description
The Knoll Tower is a flag tower built in 1883, constructed from random coursed ashlar with a roof that is hidden behind a parapet. The tower has a square plan and features an octagonal corner turret on the northwest side, designed in the Tudor Gothic style. It consists of three stages, with a four-stage turret. The first stage has a battered appearance, with string courses marking the floor levels and a battlemented parapet. The rectangular openings in the first and second stages, as well as in the turret, have chamfered reveals. The top stage features mullioned square windows with chamfered reveals. There is a boarded door located on the southeast side. A fire back dated 1613 is set into the ground on the west front, which was present at the time of the re-survey. The tower is associated with Weston Park, located in Weston-under-Lizard, Staffordshire.
