Description
Marsh Brook Bridge is a former turnpike road bridge, now by-passed, that spans the Marsh Brook. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of coursed rubble and ashlar. The bridge features a single segmental arched span made of squared dressed stone, with a single ring of ashlar voussoirs. The spandrels are also made of coursed rubble. There is an ashlar string course that steps down on the south side. The large parapets are made of coursed rubble with dressed rounded tops. The approach road is retained by coursed rubble walls that have ashlar quoins.
