Description
The Lodge is an early 19th-century building constructed from coursed rubble with a slate roof and a brick stack featuring niches and a later superstructure. It has a six-sided plan and is a single-storey structure with an attic and cellar. The windows include two and three-light designs with metal glazing bars and some casements, all set beneath shouldered drip-courses and chamfered lintels. The building has 20th-century ornamental barge-boards and a 20th-century studded and battened oak door in a chamfered opening, which is located under a mutilated drip-course. Above the door is a simple 20th-century porch and lancet windows with metal glazing bars. Attached to the Lodge are 18th-century wrought-iron railings and gates, along with a wrought-iron screen above, and incised ashlar piers.
