Description

This is a 17th-century house with an 18th-century extension. It is timber-framed with painted rendered panels, set on stone rubble and concrete plinths, and includes a brick extension and outshuts. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The north chimneys are plain, while the south chimney is stepped, featuring a stone lower stage.

The front of the house has two windows on each floor, with two 19th-century 2-light casements on the east front. A central, tiled gabled porch was added in the 20th century and is enclosed. The timber framing is four panels high, with a girding beam, straight braces at each truss-post, middle rails, and studs. An iron grill is present in the plinth, which may indicate a former cellar. A plain brick, tiled gabled extension is positioned to the right, and brick lean-to extensions enclose the chimney stack to the left.

The right gable-end shows the end truss with a tie beam, collar and vertical strut visible behind the brick chimney shaft and a single-storey extension. The left gable-end shows an end truss, partially obscured by a brick chimney shaft; this reveals a cambered tie beam, vertical struts, and evidence of a double purlin roof. The rear wall has the same fenestration and framing as the front, but features a bricked-up doorway with a 20th-century casement window and weathering-boards on brackets over the ground-floor openings. The interior of the house was not inspected.
