Description

The Mount is a detached house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting. The house has three sash windows, with the lower windows being tripartite. The entrance is marked by a central doorcase made of moulded wood, which is topped with a three-light rectangular fanlight and supported by a canopy on iron trellis supports. The eaves are moulded stone and feature a central pediment, and the roof is covered with slates. The northern half of the house includes part of an earlier structure, and the rear portion at ground level has exposed ceiling beams that may have been reused. Inside, the house retains a well-preserved original staircase.
